S.O.R.T MEETING MINUTES

 

January 17 – Coal Creek Utility District

¨       Eric opened the meeting at 9:05am.

 

¨       Due to scheduling conflicts the committee discussed changing the date of the February meeting.  It will be moved to February 7th and remain at King County Water District #19.

 

 

PROGRAM REVIEW

·         Traffic Control Program – Drew distributed an initial draft to review.  The committee will come back in February with comments.

 

COMMENTS ON LAST MONTH’S SORT PROGRAMS

·         SARA Title III  - Clint passed out a draft he created.  After initial review it was recommended that Clint make some fixes to it and bring it back to the February meeting for further review.

 

·         Respiratory Protection – Final comments provided.  Jim will add them and send to the Pool for printing and distribution.

 

·         Safety Orientation – Final comments provided.  Drew will add them and send to Pool for printing and distribution.

 

·         Poisoning – Robert will incorporate the comments and edits on the draft and bring it back to the committee in February for final review.

 

 

¨       Drew gave the group a tour of the new district facilities.

 

 

UPDATE FROM POOL REPRESENTATIVE

·         The Pool is ready to order SORT jackets for members that qualify.  Jackets will be ordered for Dan, Wayne, Jim and Peter.

 

·         The committee discussed possible locations for the April Confined Space Workshop.  Alderwood offers the best facilities for classroom and field practice modules.

 

 

VIDEO REVIEW

·The committee reviewed Pool video #1 on Mystery of the Back and Pool video #13 on HAZWOPER.  Video #1 should be replaced.  It is too long and not very relevant to district needs.  Video #13 is worth keeping but should be replaced with a newer version that covers identification, recognition and basic procedures but no response.

 

 

PROGRAM REVIEW SCHEDULE

·         The committee prioritized the programs that need to be updated.  We have a schedule in place through August.

 

 

¨       Members distributed safety information.

 

¨       Next meeting scheduled for February 7 at King County Water District #19 on Vashon Island.

 

¨       The meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
