S.O.R.T. MEETING MINUTES

 

February 13, 2002 – Annapolis Water District

 

Present:

Clint Vanderkooi – Sammamish Plateau Water & Sewer District

Robert Smart – Covington Water District

Bill Lathum – Annapolis Water District

Randy Screws – Karcher Creek Sewer District

Don Hoskinson – Manchester Water District

Dan Foster – WSRMP

 

 


¨       Robert opened the meeting at 9:15am

 

¨       Dan informed the committee that Eric Green is no longer employed with King County Water District #19.  The district will notify us a soon as they have a replacement available for SORT.

 

¨       Bill asked that Kyle be removed from SORT since Bill will be the primary representative for Annapolis.

 

¨       LAST MONTH”S PROGRAMS

·         Annual Review of Programs – Tabled until next month.  Drew and Keith were not present to discuss their changes.

·         Chlorine Safety – Bill and Randy will reevaluate the purpose and scope of the program.  A new draft will be presented at the next meeting.

·         Lockout/Tagout – Robert will take over updating the program.  He will review comments and bring a draft back to SORT for further review.

 

¨       PROGRAM REVIEW

·         Hazard Communication – Robert will change the program based on the new core safety codes.

·         Meter Reading – Kurt will review comments and bring a draft back to SORT for further review.

 

¨       POOL REPRESENTATIVE

·      Dan solicited members about their interest in holding a short meeting after the March Respiratory Protection Workshop.  Some suggestions for the meeting are to review programs or discuss future training topics.  They requested that the matter be emailed to all members and then we can decide if it is necessary to meet.

 

¨       COASTAL TRAINING PRESENTATION

·         John Bissell with Coastal was present to demonstrate their new online/CD-ROM training programs.  He offered SORT members a trial preview to test out at their districts.  SORT members will let Dan know if this is something they are interested in using with their districts.  If interested, the Pool will look into the feasibility of offering it to our members.

 

¨       The meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.

 

¨       The next meeting will be either March 13th at Alderwood Water & Wastewater District or on April 10th at the Pool office.
