¨       Eric opened the meeting at 9:00am.

 

UPDATE FROM POOL REPRESENTATIVE

·         Confined Space Workshop – Dan gave a brief update on the results of the training class.  The SORT members present who attended the training shared their thoughts about it.

·         Future Programs to Review – Dan asked the committee for input on what programs they would like to review in the Fall.  Chlorine Safety, Hearing Safety, PPE/Eye Protection, Fall Protection, and Meter Reader Safety will be reviewed between September and December.

 

PROGRAM REVIEW

·         Hazard Communication – Wayne was not present so this program will be tabled until next month.

 

COMMENTS ON LAST MONTH’S SORT PROGRAMS

·         Incident/Accident Investigation – Committee offered some minor changes to it.  Jim will make the edits and send the program to the Pool for printing and distribution.

·         Welding, Cutting and Brazing – committee gave comments.  Program will come back in June for final review.

·         Traffic Control – Drew will accept comments by May 16th then it will go to Pool for printing and distribution.

 

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION/PPE WORKSHOP

Discussion tabled until the June meeting.

 

VIDEO REVIEW

·         Drew brought a video with media coverage of the Factoria reservoir overflow.

·         The committee review POOL-2: Foundational Concepts of Behavior-Based Safety.  The feedback was mixed and the committee asked to see the next video in the series to get a better idea of the training concept and usefulness.

 

¨       Members passed out information for everyone to review and keep.

¨       The meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.

¨       Next meeting at Woodinville Water District on June 13th.
