S.O.R.T MEETING MINUTES

 

October 17, 2001 – Annapolis Water District

¨       Eric opened the meeting at 9:02am

 

¨       LAST MONTH”S PROGRAMS

·         Ladder Safety – All comments are in.  Eric is going to add some additional graphics and send the program to the Pool for printing and distribution.

·         Safety Meetings – No additional comments.  Keith will forward program to Pool for printing and distribution.

 

¨       The group discussed the process of complying with the Safety Committee Requirements.  Some members discussed how they run their meetings and how elections are conducted.

 

¨       Committee discussed the practice of leaving keys in vehicles overnight in locked garages.  Dan was asked to research if the Pool has any requirements or policies that address this issue.

 

¨       PROGRAM REVIEW

·         Hearing Program – Committee provided comments.  Keith will bring back next month for final review.

·         Slips, Trips and Falls – Group will review program and provide feedback at next meeting.

 

¨       RESPIRATORY PROTECTION WORKSHOP

The committee is looking at February or March as the best time to hold the training.  Dan will look into utilizing a professional trainer to provide the bulk of the training.  Drew, Eric and Robert expressed an interest in supplementing the training with some additional information.

 

¨       The committee discussed having other training in the coming year.  Bloodborne Pathogens and Flagger Training were requested.

 

¨       VIDEO REVIEW

·         POOL#22 – Riding Mower Safety.  The subject matter was drawn out too long and is not relevant for most districts.

·         POOL #24 – Push Mower Safety.  Overkill on the details of using a push mower.  Operator violated safety instructions by tilting front of mower while operating it.  Committee recommended this video be removed.

 

¨       The meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.

 

¨       The next meeting will on November 14th at Sammamish Plateau.
