S.O.R.T MEETING MINUTES

 

November 14, 2001 - Sammamish Plateau Water & Sewer District

 

Present:

Eric Green – King County Water District #19

Keith Olson – Cedar River Water & Sewer District

Clint Vanderkooi – Sammamish Plateau Water & Sewer District

Kurt Oakland – Woodinville Water District

Robert Smart – Covington Water District

¨       Eric opened the meeting at 9:10am

 

¨       LAST MONTH”S PROGRAMS

·         Hearing Program – Final comments in.  Keith will send program to Pool for printing and distribution.

·         Slips, Trips and Falls – Comments due back at next meeting.

 

¨       ELECTIONS

It is time to vote on a new Vice Chair.  Robert will move up to Chair in January.  The committee nominated Clint and Kurt.  The committee agreed to close nominations at the meeting and move forward with the election.  Since only half of the committee was present Dan will email the nominations to all the members.  Members will submit their votes to Dan.

 

¨       POOL REPRESENTATIVE

·      Dan distributed a draft meeting schedule for 2002.  The members reviewed it and made some changes.  A final copy will be handed out at the next meeting.

·      The committee reviewed the schedule of remaining programs.  We discussed which programs to revise next.  The updated spreadsheet will be distributed at the next meeting.

·      Dan found a speaker/trainer for the Respiratory Protection Workshop.  Rick Gleason with Prezant submitted a proposal to the Pool.  The committee would like to have Rick come to a meeting to briefly discuss his presentation.  Dan will try to schedule Rick for the next meeting.

 

¨       The committee brainstormed ways to attract more interest in SORT from other Pool districts.  Dan contacted several districts last spring but the interest was not there.  Some of the committee members will try to make contact with their peers at some of the districts in hopes of getting them to attend at least one meeting.

 

¨       VIDEO REVIEW

·         POOL#25 – Safe Driving in Hazardous Conditions.  Good information but did not mention anything about ABS.  Recommend replacing with newer video.

·         POOL #34 –The Man Who Fell Into Trouble.  Dealt with public housing concerns.  Not relevant to disctricts.  Recommend replacing or eliminating from library.

 

¨       The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.

 

¨       The next meeting will be on December 12th at Olympic View.
