December 12, 2001 - Water & Sewer Risk Management Pool

¨       Eric opened the meeting at 9:10am

 

¨       LAST MONTH”S PROGRAMS

·         Slips, Trips and Falls – All comments are in.  Eric will send it to the Pool for printing and distribution.

 

¨       PROGRAM REVIEW

·         Annual Review of Programs – Committee provided comments.  Dan will modify and bring back next month with changes.

·         Committee recommends adding a program on safety-related recordkeeping.  They would also like to add a section in the SORT Operations Manual that defines the elements of a safety program (e.g., purpose, scope, training requirements, recordkeeping, etc.).

·         Chlorine Safety – Bill handed out a copy of the program he and Randy worked on.  The committee will review and come back next month with comments.

 

¨       POOL REPRESENTATIVE

·      Clint was elected as the next Vice Chair.  He will serve as back up to Robert next year and then move up to Chairman in 2003.

·      Keith will meet with Rick Gleason (Prezant & Associates) and I to review the specifics of the Respiratory Protection Workshop.  Dan will look into a host district for the training.

·      The committee discussed the training to provide in 2002.  It is as follows: First Aid, Driver Safety, Respiratory protection, Flagger and Bloodborne Pathogens.  Other training may be added as the year progresses.

 

¨       VIDEO REVIEW

·         POOL#26 – Safety is No Accident: Chain Saw Safety.  Good content even though it is rather long.

·         POOL#29 – Trenching & Shoring – The Wrong Way.  Definitely a keeper.  Excellent footage of improper work procedures on an actual job site.

 

¨       The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.

 

¨       The next meeting will be on January 9th at Coal Creek.
